Top wines from South Tyrol
Val Venosta/Vinschgau, the most westerly and sun-blessed part of South Tyrol, is home to Himmelreich Wein | Vino. Located between Kastelbell castle and Juval castle, it almost looks like it’s part of a painted landscape. This is where we, the Fliri family, put the best that nature has to offer into our wine bottles. It may sound corny, but it reflects our deep respect for nature and our surroundings – and you’ll be convinced of that once you’ve paid a visit to our winery bar. We run our winery 100% by hand and press our grapes naturally and with the gentlest manual methods possible. The result is elegant, complex, award-winning wines with a high minerality and distinctive vintage characteristics, which impress casual drinkers, connoisseurs, and sommeliers alike.
Exceptional terroir. Natural cultivation. Wines with character.
There’s a good reason why Val Venosta/Vinschgau is considered one of the best wine-growing regions in Europe: Sunny, south-facing slopes, continuous aeration thanks to gentle winds, and diverse vegetation with apple and chestnut orchards around the vines create the perfect conditions for top wine. Climate, soil, and exposure allow us to cultivate our grapes as naturally as possible, as the wind and the dry environment provide natural protection against damaging factors. You’ll find the character of this special terroir in each and every one of our bottles – characteristics we consciously retain.
The Fliri family
We mostly run our winery as a family, with great enthusiasm, expertise, and energy. Son Elias is taking the winery into the next generation. He brings a great deal of expert knowledge and new ideas to the business thanks to his training as a winemaker and practical experiences at various wineries and wine cellars in Italy and abroad. Daughter Eva is always there to lend a helping hand with the harvest, processing, or storage. Mum Jutta’s greatest passion is the boutique, where you can buy our wines. Curious? Then pay us a visit, savour a fine wine and snacks with dad Markus in our winery bar, and take wonderful memories home with you alongside the odd souvenir or gift. Have a look at our upcoming events or get in touch with us to arrange an individual winery tour, vineyard walk, or tasting.
